SkillGrouper Terms of Service

SkillGrouper (the “Tool”) is a Google Workspace Add-on developed and maintained by CJD Solutions LLC  ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tool and any related services. By installing or using the Tool, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Tool.

1. Description

SkillGrouper is a Google Workspace Add-on for Google Sheets that helps educators analyze assessment data and inform Tier 1 and 2 academic intervention. A school district or other Google Workspace organization may choose to install the add-on for all users designated as teachers or administrators. It operates entirely within your Google account and only runs when explicitly opened in the Google Sheets editor.

2. Data Usage

SkillGrouper does not collect, transmit, or store any student-identifiable data. When you use the SkillGrouper spreadsheet template to store student information, the data remains in your Google Drive as a Spreadsheet file and is subject to your organization's existing access and sharing controls.

If your account is part of a Google Workspace domain, your administrators retain the same access rights to SkillGrouper templates as they would to any other Google Sheets file. It is the sole responsibility of the user and their organization to ensure that usage of the tool is in compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and any applicable local or state regulations governing student data privacy.

SkillGrouper only runs within the Google Sheets editor after you open it by clicking its sidebar icon. It cannot access or modify any of your spreadsheets unless SkillGrouper is explicitly opened by you from within that file.

When closed, SkillGrouper stops executing and does not access or modify spreadsheet contents until reopened.

2.1 Usage Logging (Optional Administrator Opt-In):

SkillGrouper offers an optional opt-in feature for Google Workspace domain administrators that securely logs aggregate usage information such as how often the tool is used by organization members and how many students were grouped. This data is visible only within your organization and helps administrators monitor engagement and instructional impact while preserving the privacy of student data. 

No student-level or personally identifiable data is included in these logs.

3. Licensing

You can acquire a personal or organizational license for SkillGrouper by contacting CJD Solutions LLC using the contact information in Section 6.

If your license expires:

• You retain access to all spreadsheets created with SkillGrouper and all data within them.

• All interactive sidebar features (e.g., creating templates, editing categories, generating groups) will be disabled.

If you renew your license, all interactive features will be restored for existing and future spreadsheets.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to modify, resell, or misuse SkillGrouper or any templates it creates in ways that could harm others or disrupt Google’s services. You may make copies of SkillGrouper-created template sheets for personal use or use within your organization. 

5. Disclaimer

This add-on is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. SkillGrouper provides warnings and confirmation prompts before taking any action that may alter sheet data. However, data may still be lost or modified in unexpected ways if the spreadsheet's structure is manually changed (for example, by adding or removing rows or columns).

CJD Solutions LLC is not responsible for any damages or data loss resulting from use of the Tool.
